Scam: Woman Pays $1,500 for 2 iphones. Gets 2 Fresh Apples Instead!

Na wa o! What do we call this one again?
Just when we thought we had seen or heard it all, an Australian woman paid $1,500 for  two new Apple iPhones. She got the apples but not the iphones!
The 21-year-old Brisbane woman placed an advert on a Website called Gumtree, asking if anyone had an iPhone for sale . A respondent told her that they had two apples for sale.
The two met at a McDonald’s where the buyer handed the seller $1,500 and was handed two “iPhone boxes that looked new.” The woman did not check to see what was inside.
She finally looked once she got home, and found fruit, not phones, inside.
Police from the Queensland town of Upper Mount Gravatt, near Brisbane, pointed out that people should be “wary” when buying online.
What beats me is why she did not just buy new phones in a shop if she had that much money.
This has to be the mother of all scams!!

FORMER FUGEES DIRECTOR ASWAD AYINDE, GETS 90 YEARS IN PRISON FOR RAPING AND IMPREGNATING HIS DAUGHTERS

Can a man who sleeps with and impregnates his own biological daughters be considered mentally stable?
Aswad Ayinde, 55, of Paterson, NJ, was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Friday after being found guilty in the second of five expected trials in which he is accused of repeatedly raping his six daughters, resulting in six children being fathered. What?!!
Mr. Ayinde was found guilty in his latest trial of having intercourse with a daughter when she was as young as eight-years-old. This sentence adds to the 40 year sentence Mr Ayinde received in a 2011 trial for sexually assaulting another daughter of his.
Mr. Ayinde is famous for directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 smash hit ‘Killing Me Softly.’
In a disturbing disclosure during his first trial, Mr. Ayinde’s former wife said he was trying to create a ‘pure family bloodline’ by impregnating his daughters. He even claimed during a pre-trial hearing before the first trial that 'the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.'
“He equaled himself to being a prophet. As time went on, he was god-like. I had to call him, ‘my god.’ He equated himself to Jesus Christ … He would sit us all down and lecture us about his greatness and his power … At another point, he equated himself to Prince and Michael Jackson.”

In this latest trial, it was revealed that Mr. Ayinde began having intercourse with his second daughter from the time she eight-years-old, impregnating her four times. The sexual assaults happened for almost 30 years in different homes (and even an abandoned funeral home) until Mr. Ayinde and his wife separated, officials said.
His daughters eventually went to the police in 2006. As the victim from this second trial put it, “We found out we had other siblings, young siblings, and we had to put him to a stop. Even though we were healing, they could still fall victim.”
Some of the children Ayinde fathered with his daughters were born in the home, with at least two babies who died in the home having been buried without notifying authorities or obtaining birth certificates, NBC New York reported.
Mr. Ayinde also fathered 12 additional children with an additional three women, according to court records
Ayinde’s tortured daughters were home schooled and isolated from other children, so as to keep the family secrets hidden, the station added. With his wife too afraid to confront him, Mr. Ayinde carried out his evil plan without hindrance even while directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 breakout hit ‘Killing Me Softly, for which he won Best R&B Video at the 1996 MTV Music Video Awards.
Mr. Ayinde faces three more trials over the alleged assaults.

Nuggets Of Gold From Dad

Happy father's day to all our dear dads, mentors and even some mums who stood as dads when for some reason dad was not there. God bless them all.
So what did you get your dad? Nothing? Really? Lets not argue. He will accept a belated gift so please get him something tomorrow.
Remember father figures are included!
I was discussing with my father yesterday and he said to me “In God’s database, your address is Isu Umu-Ezedim”.  You see Isu Umu- Ezedim is my village. It is a village in Oba, Anambra State, Nigeria. Dad was trying to tell me how important it is to stay in touch with my roots. My dad says stuff like this all the time. He encourages me and always lends a listening ear. Now more than ever I want to listen to his wise counsel and I treasure every word he says.
In view of this and to honour our dads, I reached out to a few friends. What has your dad said to you that stuck like glue? What did he say to make you the man or woman you are today? What is his mantra which you still live by? Read and enjoy but most of all, learn and let something a dad said affect you positively today!

Polio: Help Finish The Fight!

India, a country once known as the world's epicenter of Polio was taken off the Polio endemic list by the World health organization in 2012 (after being Polio free for over a year). Since then, there have been only 3 countries left on the polio endemic list. They are Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. This record however changed when a 32-month-old girl living in the Banaadir region near Mogadishu was recently paralyzed by the wild polio virus, as announced by the World Health Organization on 11th of May. This is Somalia’s first case caused by wild polio virus since March 2007. Genetic new testing suggests that the polio virus in Somalia is linked to viruses circulating in Northern Nigeria, according to a WHO representative.
